There is nothing better than an exciting night out where the attendees are flooded with excessive entertainment. Such was the show ''Veet-What beauty feels like'' which was recently held at PC, Karachi showcased a celebration of beauty and femininity through a number of ambassadors of Pakistani fashion. The show was presented by Catwalk Productions and it featured a dance performance choreographed by Omar Rahim as well as the collections of Top Pakistani designers such as HSY, Nomi Ansari, Khaadi Khas and Maheen Khan. The brand is known for its association with fashion models, actresses and glamour. So it's obvious that any event with the involvement of this brand will surely be extravagant

The event exhibited the world premiere of the opening performance entitled 'Titli', which explored beauty through the metaphor of the life cycle of a butterfly. The dance depicted the struggle to grow, the desire to play and the dream to fly. The music was composed by Shallum Xavier and the costumes were designed by Zaheer Abbas.

The dance performance was followed by Nomi Ansari showcasing his Spring/Summer 2009 collection based on the circle of life. While HSY set the mood through his airy Resort collection. The emphasis of his line was on an elegant, fluid silhouette in soft fabrics like chiffon and georgette.

The Veet-sponsored fashion show that took place recently showcased the spring/summer collections by Hasan Shehryar Yasin, Khaadi Khas, Maheen Khan and Nomi Ansari.

Omar Rahim opened the show by a dance sequence choreographed by him on the lifecycle of a butterfly. The somewhat innovative dance sequences with the dancers dressed in simple white showed the struggle to break free from the cocoon and finally coming into its own as a butterfly. The dancers displayed graceful flexibility and each was handpicked from various dance troupes.

Nomi Ansari is one designer who wants to have fun on the catwalk. His models walked down the ramp sporting large colourful flowers in the hair. The collection inspired by the ''circle of life'' and anything new, fresh and happening in nature, carried his signature love for colours and more than enough bling embroidered on the clothes to blind the onlookers. Far from being revolutionary, it seemed to cater directly to the bridal market: the brides as well as the wedding attendees.

Hasan Shehryar Yashin (HSY)'s resort collection was inspired by the Mediterranean Sea. An amalgamation of blue, turquoise, bottle-green, deep purple among other colours, this collection was a visible growth of his design sense from his last two which previously showcased his love for length and volume. In this collection too the volume was very much there, but as opposed to the current trend of keeping longer lengths, his models opened the show in ensembles that ended above the knee.

This was the last show I attended today, at 8P - October 15, 2008 and it was a SHOW. Dave Stewart played live music, there was dancing on the runway by the models, dogs on the runway, children on the runway, and celebrities Heidi Klum, Miley Cyrus, Lamar Odum, and Leila Odum were in the front row.

The best part of the show was in the finale when the kids came out and danced on the runway. It was too cute for words. The show was about plaid, jackets with Christian Audigier's face on them, lots of tatoo prints on long sleeve tees, and rock and roll style. Also, Miley Cyrus was caught making faces at Justin Gaston when he walked down the runway. I have to say, I hope he takes his mug off the back of the jackets before he sells them in the stores. The sequin jacket was a favorite of mine, the gold leather jacket was tres chic, but the flames on the jeans were not for me.

Sara Gillani , Vaneeza Ahmed and many more other models are presenting bridal dresses in a beautiful way .They also use traditional jewellry and hair styles . Their make up is also fabulous.
